Word of Life Christian Church –
About Us

The Word of Life Christian Church is a God approved ministry for the city of St. Louis, Missouri, with ambitions to create partnerships and ministry connections locally and internationally. We are not aligned with any sect, denomination, religious association, or church organization. We are an independent, non-denomination, Not-For-Profit organization that possess a 501(c)3 status. We are governed by a board of Elders.

We have been inspired to be a church family of men and women of common desire to perpetuate Kingdom principles from generation to generation. This Christian community recognizes only one ultimate authority, a loving heavenly Father, manifesting Himself through Christ Jesus our Lord & His Spiritual body, the Church. Our ministry leaders and ministry workers are trusted servants dedicated to serve the ministry vision given to this body.

Ministerial leadership and serving were planted in the heart of Julius Sims during his developmental years as a Deacon, Bible Teacher, Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor while serving under the apostolic leadership of Drs. Wilbert & Elsie Clark overseers of the Army of the Lord Church & Bible College. The Word of Life Christian Church was incorporated with the state of Missouri as a Corporation in March of 1993.

Eventually confirmed by an ordination council of established Elders & Pastors from the St. Louis metro area, Pastor Sims was officially recognized and set in place. Both he and his wife have ministerial accountability and serve as ministry son and daughter to Dr. Mark Hanby (www.yourquantumlife.com))

What We Believe

HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

A real experience at or subsequent to salvation, with the scriptural evidence, namely, speaking in unknown tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal. 3:14-15)

BIRTH & DEATH OF JESUS

We believe Jesus to be the Savior of Men; conceived of the Holy Spirit; born of Virgin Mary; very much God and very much man. He died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared unto His disciples (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14-18; Isa. 7:14; 9:6; I Cor. 15:1-4; Romans 4:25)

SCRIPTURES

We believe biblical Scripture is the infallible, inerrant (free of errors), and the sole, and final authority for all matters of faith and conduct (II Timothy 3:16)

GOD

We believe in the eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as one God existing in three persons; Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)

SALVATION

Salvation of sinners is by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the Cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Eph. 2:8-9; Heb. 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11)

MAN

We believe in the creation, test, and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total moral corruption and inability to attain to Divine righteousness (Romans 5:12, 18).

WATER BAPTISM

By immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6)

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

The operation of the Gifts of the Spirit as listed in Scripture (I Cor. 12-14) as manifested in the Early Church.

Messages From Our Members

We have a strong sense of community with parishioners.

My family and I found a church home at Word of Life. Pastor, the church elders and congregation have made us feel like we belong ever since we initially walked through doors. At each gathering, the preaching, prayer and selfless acts reflect a daily deep communion with Divine Love.

Word of Life Church under the leadership of the honorable Dr. Julius Sims truly exemplifies its motto, “Exposing God’s Light and establishing Godly relationships”. He teaches core values. He’s a stickler on understanding the value of Kingdom living and the importance of a good prayer life. The atmosphere is awesome, and the members are genuine. I have learned how to truly stand in the midst of challenges allowing my teachings to align with my actions.

This is a community of believers where spiritual growth, personal development, and God’s love through others have been a great blessing to my life. I have benefited greatly by what’s been taught and support received.
