Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1 Peter 1:13-15(KJV)
“The Issues Stemming From Being Ignorant”
Some of the most priceless objectives presented to the blood-bought citizens of God’s Kingdom involve, but are not limited to: the self-denying adventures of scriptural obedience; a life style of holy living; while coupled with the efforts of increasing one’s biblical knowledge. What you don’t know can be a problem; especially if it involves the blessings that are waiting on you to get in the proper position. Ignorance can hinder your own happiness, restrict your personal pursuits, and it can corrupt precious relationships with others. The Word of God that we read, study, depend upon and live by, speaks very candidly and very often about the detriment and the consequences of being ignorant. Biblical ignorance can lead to mistaken conduct and can forbid unconditional imputation of the guilt of the acts performed, as alluded to in Peter’s letter.
Being ignorant about what God expects from us affects the level of walk before HIM. The actions or results of one’s ignorance can cause personal setbacks, confusion, murmuring, and the occasional bout of unshakeable frustration. Ignorance is like an invisible wall that we constantly crash into, but we always explain away its existence. It distorts our way and inflicts unwanted pain. This Christian adventure of ours must involve our pain-staking efforts of increasing in scriptural knowledge, meaningful meditation, progressively exposing ourselves to revelatory teachings, and embracing healthy relationships with mature believers of the Body of Christ.
Relationships that are governed by the Word of God and officiated by Spirit of God are not designed for close-minded people. We must consider ourselves as life-long learners of truth. The greatness of who HE is and the greatness of what we can experience are determined by the levels of spiritual ignorance that is banished. Let’s not be the victims all over again from the things that God has freed us from. Let’s strive to become and remain children of the Light. BE DETERMINED TO WALK OUT OF THE LAND OF IGNORANCE, THROUGH THE WILDERNESS OF DEVELOPMENT, AND INTO THE LAND OF TRUTH & FREEDOM.
