wolcc - about elder cathy sims

Cathy Sims is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and a product of the St. Louis Public School system where she flourished and found personal expression within the School’s Drama Department. She has always had the strong moral support and nurturing from her father, mother, and 3 older sisters. After celebrating her marriage in 1984, Cathy retired from Corporate America (Southwestern Bell) with the intent of raising and supporting her kids, becoming an effective home-maker, volunteering at the nearby school, and being a moral support to her husband. Cathy was divinely compelled to depart from the rudiments of Catholicism and she spiritually progressed as a member of The Army of the Lord Bible College & ChristianChurch, St. Louis, MO. She faithfully served under the apostolic leadership of Drs. Wilbert & Elise Clark from 1984-1993. It was during that period that Cathy began to embrace and understand the idea of divine purpose. It was also during that time that she discovered the richness of intercession and to “spiritually see” the call of leadership on her life.

Elder Cathy presently serves on a team of Church Elders dedicated to teach the Word of God and carry the burden of ministry. She passionately engages to help others become familiar with the sound of His voice, as individuals sometime find themselves apprehended by all the other voices in life. She is a loving wife of 25 years to Pastor Julius Sims. She is a committed mother to 3 sons, a caring grandmother to 4 kids and caring servant to her mother.

Elder Cathy’s ministerial contributions are as follows: she serves the body at Word of Life Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri (WOLCC-STL) as a Bible Teacher; she serves on the executive Board of the Church; she serves in the capacity of Advisor and Mentor; she helps to oversee the WOLCC-STL Praise & Worship Ministry; assist with the administrative affairs of the Church; and she serves as a Program Planner for the church’ anniversary Programs. She has become a respected Intercessor, a quality example of womanhood, and is an esteemed leader in the body of Christ. One of her most favorite quotes: “Embraced with His grace”.
