YEARNING TO KNOW GOD

GREATER & ENVISIONING YOUR FUTURE

“Operating With a Destiny Mentality”

(2 Perspectives)

From the Individual Perspective

The colorful and culminating Bible stories that documented the lives of God’s people should serve as a reminder that The Lord God Almighty is a destiny-minded Spirit.  God sees the end from the beginning.  We will never surprise God with the life we possibly could end up occupying in our future.  If we propose to sincerely submit to, love, and serve this destiny-minded God, we must learn the art and science of handling life with a destiny-mentality.  God desires us to arrive into a future state that will glorify HIM and satisfy our souls.  When Christ becomes the core, chemistry, character of our lives, what we aim for and establish will testify of God’s grace and mercy.  A perceived harvest is the results of presently sowing.  We can sow such things as: our money, our labor, our obedience, our sacrifice, our time, our talents, or our possessions.  There is not much personal fulfillment being only dreamers of a fruitful destiny.

We are to be righteous servants and wise master-builders of things that will compliment and support our destiny.  God has this divine method of giving us “now” provisions and opportunities to help provide a celebrated future. Due to the fact that God has seen and has previously operated from an eternal mind-set, HE already knows the future.  If we are to arrive into our future state that will glorify God, we must perpetually invest our energies to learn, become fruitful, and spend intimate time with the divine dream-giver Himself.

We are always on God’s mind.  When we spend intimate times with God, HE will begin to stimulate our faith for our future by expanding our present imagination.  HIS destiny-minded intentions for us will require our earthly responsibilities.  HIS desire is for our fulfillment and HIS expressed glory.  Noah had been told about this strange phenomenon of rain that would come to the earth.  Notwithstanding Noah would then progress to accommodate his family’s future by the building of a huge boat.  Just as Noah became responsible for operating with destiny in mind, so we too must learn to take operational measures in the things that will accommodate our future.

From the Corporate Perspective

Without a doubt, the physical appearances and structural expressions of the Christian church facility has become an American staple.  Throughout urban America, they tend to generate or pop-up along the avenue of city blocks much like the increasing infiltration of the Walgreens stores, McDonald’s, and Liquor stores.  Even the far extending regions outside the urban life, community churches can be found breathing with life and expression while nestled in the rural areas of America.

It seems to me as churches become more productive and expressive, it is also a common phenomenon to witness the metamorphosis of these church facilities.  Many churches deal with the transplanting of their membership into better equipped facilities that will accommodate ministry needs and expanding congregations.  Just like destiny-minded individuals, church groups should also learn to participate and operate in ministry matters while having a destiny mentality.  Church congregations must learn to constantly sow to be able to see their expected harvest.

In the book of Exodus (chapter 12) God requested the people of Israel to bring needed materials for the erecting of a moveable tabernacle.  God desired their future to include HIS presence.  Their sacrificial contributions would afford them the honor of having God dwell among them.  Their future would be bright, but it would take actions in their present.

God desires HIS church to be active participants while operating with their destiny in mind.  It starts with the developed conditions of the hearts and the works of their hands.  The possibilities of successful building programs and ministry developments are directly related to the financial contributions and on-going labors of the church body.  There is no better hand-out, than the active giving from the hands of the church’s own people.  God will speak about a future, but HE desires to bless the present works of our hands.
